Adult ADHD Therapy
I’m Alex. I have ADHD.
Fun fact, back in 1990, I was one of the first 40 people to be diagnosed with ADHD. I’ve almost never not known about my ADHD brain and how to work with it (and against it!). I bring over 30 years of experience into therapeutically supporting others understand their ADHD and how that impacts on their emotions, thoughts and behaviours.

Who is ADHD Therapy for?
Are you struggling with your mental health & wellbeing alongside your ADHD symptoms?
Have you recently been diagnosed and feel overwhelmed by this?
Do you feel a whole range of emotions and at times unsure why it’s leaving you frustrated or confused?
Are you more concerned with understanding your past to figure out why you feel the way you do in the present?
Do you feel it’s time to go emotionally deeper into understanding who you really are?
If any or all of the above resonates with you, then you might want to consider therapy.
Why is Alex the right therapist for me?
I might not be! Us therapists come in all shapes and sizes. Choosing the right therapist is a deeply personal choice. Just make sure they are accredited (I am). The foundation of my therapeutic approach I call the Core Compassionate Model of Change and is based on:
Understanding and making sense of your experiences:
Physically
Emotionally
Cognitively
Setting healthy boundaries & identifying your needs
Compassionate support
Developing safety and trust between me and you
Direct and real dialogue to respectfully identify mental-blocks
Challenging you to move from past focus into future horizons
Encouraging you to become your own agent of change
If this resonates with you then we might be a good match. I truly believe that my approach enables you to respectfully shift your frustrated and confused mindset to one of autonomy and action.
Who wouldn't want that?
Nice words from past clients
What’s it like to work with Alex?
For some, therapy feels daunting, for others it's exciting and then there are some of us who just don't know where else to turn. Wherever you’re at, I got you.
Past clients have described me as compassionate, focussed, energetic, warm and respectfully challenging.
What I believe happens when two ADHDers get together, is a phenomena known as profound empathy. It’s a place where we ‘just know and feel’ the challenges almost without speaking it. It’s from this trusting place that I work with each individual at their pace to achieve what has previously been unachievable.
Even though we both have ADHD, my goal as a therapist is to help you understand your past through your new unique ADHD lens, come to terms with it and then empower you to create a future you want.
